History

Newsworthy Pty Ltd T/A Surcare Australia is a privately run company established in September 1999. Located in Victoria, Surcare Australia is an emerging, progressive business that manufactures and assembles its own power tools that are trade marked Surcare.

Newsworthy has successfully designed, manufactured, produced, marketed and patented the revolutionary Surcare Series of machines, large hand held surface finishing machines suitable for a number of applications including solid surface (plastic/acrylic), cultured marble, timber and metals.

Awards

Having successfully designed, manufactured, produced and marketed the revolutionary SMF-200 Sander & Microfinisher Surcare Australia went on to win 'The New Australian Manufacturing Company of the Year and was Highly Commended in 'Australian Manufacturing Product of the Year' in the 2001 Deloitte Manufacturing Industry awards recognising excellence and innovation in the manufacturing sector.

Surcare Australia attained another accolade 'Emerging Exporter of the Year' in the 2002 Business SA Export Awards recognising outstanding export achievement by an enterprise within industry which has been exporting for three years or less. This accolade saw Surcare Australia become a National Finalist in the export awards and listed on the 2002 Exporter Honour Roll.

Surcare Australia has recently produced the Surcare SMF-TETRAD, a random orbit, 4 x 5 inch (4 x 125mm) disc sander with 3mm orbit. A great tool for on-site or fine finishing the SMF-TETRAD now has an extension handle available as an optional accessory.

Surcare Australia is committed to remain at the cutting edge of finishing technology and will continue to seek innovative solutions for the challenges presented in the finishing of surfaces.
